The project consists of two minor tasks (social media page and digipak) and a major task, which is the music video. These different elements work together and create a sense of branding. This project's whole purpose/idea is to rebrand an artist and one of their songs. Firstly, one of the leading platforms on which artists show off their 'brand' is the social media app Instagram. Therefore we created an Instagram page where we posted interactive content to keep our target audience, which was established in a target audience questionnaire, interested.
Social media is a collective term for websites and applications that focus on communication, interaction, content-sharing, and collaboration; it is predominately used amongst youth. Social media is vital to establish someone's brand as their target audience will follow everything they do. Therefore Antonia and I needed to create a social page where we could show the new and improved version of Era's song Bonbon and the overall process and production of it. With our audience being predominantly teenagers, we decided that the best way to keep our them informed on our progress was by posting photos from photoshoots, behind the scenes videos, and more.
Furthermore, the digipak also plays a vital role in the branding of our final product. While most of our audience is youth and social media is highly accessible to them, we have a portion of viewers who possibly will choose an alternative to social media. While YouTube is also one of the main places where our project can be branded, we decided it would be best to create an eye-catching and bold digipak to brand our product further. Its bold colors and intriguing qualities will attract the eye of many different audience groups, leading them to be interested in seeing the final product (the music video).
