PLANNING - Fonts

Updated: Apr 9, 2021

My team and I discussed the possible fonts we had in mind to use in our magazine. We surfed the internet and decided that we would use all our fonts from 'DaFont’. We then came to a rough conclusion for the fonts we would use, after many hours of searching for potential and final fonts.

NOTE THAT THESE FONTS MAY BE CHANGED IN THE PROCESS FURTHER ON DEPENDING ON THE COMPLEXITY OF EACH PHOTO IN EACH INDIVIDUAL ISSUE.

FONTS

For the COVER, we each decided to keep it simple in terms of written content. This is because we don't want to make the front cover look too crowded or include too much information, as it will be evenly distributed in the rest of the magazine. (In my case, I am making an editorial magazine)

We though about using the same font that we used for our logo, for the topic of the magazine. This font is called 'Coolvetica' , we will shrink it down, play around with the boldness of it and colour, each depending on the individual issue and our personal preferences. For the 'Issue number' we decided on using the font 'Steelfish'

For our CONTENTS page we decided that on the left page, we would only write the word 'contents' and keep it simple and if needed some credits at the very bottom. The word

contents would be used in either 'StretchPro' or 'NextArt'

When it come to the actual content of the page, we will write some of the titles to our articles and editorials that will be included in each of our individual editions in the font 'Kiona'. We believe that this font looks very sophisticated while also not being a distraction from everything else that is in the photo. We might bold the text and/or change the font.

As for the written information that is a part of the article and editorials, which is usually longer pieces of text. We came to a common agreement that we need to use a font that is simple to read and understand while also not distracting the reader/viewer from the main aspect of the page e.g. the photos. We will use the font 'New Hero'

COLOUR SCHEME

For the colouring of the text itself we will most likely be sticking to white, black and possibly grey, however it is up to each of us what we want to do in our individual editions of the flair magazine. Other colours are well accepted and if coloured text makes it look more ineteresting, we may change the colour of the text.
